Location

Planning to come to UChi-Con but not familiar with the area? Not to worry! We'll help you plan your con adventure ahead of time with tips and maps below.

Location

UChi-Con is located in Ida Noyes Hall and the Rubenstein at the University of Chicago. Sign-in, café, game rooms, maid cafe, and cosplay contest are in Ida Noyes (1212 E 59th St, Chicago, IL 60637). Artist Alley, panels, and other events are in Rubenstein, whose address is 1201 E 60th St, Chicago, IL 60637. There will not be any events hosted in Harper (our previous venue) this year.

Parking

Because we are on a university campus, there is plenty of free street parking on the Midway (the grassy span of four parallel streets between Ida Noyes Hall and the Rubenstein Forum). However, if you do not arrive early enough, much or all of these spots will have already been taken. For a complete list of potential other parking places around the University of Chicago campus, please check this website. This other website is an interactive map that offers more insight on parking locations and their respective policies. The closest parking lots include Lexington, Judd, Law, and Kimbark. Most of the parking lots have permit parking that is free on the weekend.

ATMs

At UChi-Con, most of the paid events are cash-only. This includes the Photobooth, Film Screening, and Cafe. The only exception is for artists in the artists' alley; some of them do accept cards. In case you arrive at the con and find yourself lacking enough cash for all of the events you want to take part in, this FAQ page has a list of ATM locations on campus.
